Amanda Dean, P.E., manages structural projects ranging from mega high-rise building projects to single-story adaptive reuse. Amanda’s passions include collaborating on unique structural design solutions, mentoring, and expanding minority representation in the AEC industry. In addition to engineering, Amanda was an adjunct professor at the University of Houston’s College of Architecture and Design from 2013 through 2021. Amanda is currently serving as inaugural co-Chair of the Walter P Moore Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Council where she works with corporate leadership to enact data-driven DEI initiatives. She also currently serves as co-Vice Chair of the 2022 NCSEA SE3 committee where she focuses on developing content based on SE3’s six years of DEI research in the structural engineering profession.
